We believe in creating a welcoming space where everyone can encounter God.

Today at Open Door, after a time of praise and worship, we were blessed to hear several different testimonies of all that God is doing in and through those in our congregation, from healing, to protection, deliverance, and even miracles! As a “more mature” member of the congregation, it always blesses me to see God moving in our young people. As I emphasize in my Wednesday night class, God is not through writing the Book of Acts because we are a part of it!
Pastor Nathan continued his message today on Wisdom and having the mind of Christ. Reading today from Isaiah 46:9-10 and Isaiah 43:11 we find that it is God that knows the beginning from the end, and it is the Spirit of God that gives us wisdom and revelation. It is He that can show us things before they even happen, and when we need to be saved, He is always there. Psalm 84:11 states, “For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” When we call upon Jesus and use His authority, God can turn evil for good.
Pastor Nathan shared that God always has a plan, but we always have a choice. It is our choice to believe God or not, to obey or not, to be faithful or unfaithful. Remember, God doesn’t always make sense, he makes ways! His ways and plans are so big, and the best things He has planned are ahead of us! It is through His wisdom that He will bring it to pass. It is our part to be faithful, listen, obey, and then leave the results to God. Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” God is doing a new thing, but it will not be coming through natural means; it will come in wisdom by His Spirit. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” I Corinthians 2:9
We must also be aware that the devil is a counterfeiter. He also has a plan, but it is always counterfeit to what God is doing and never for good. Remember that God’s plan is for good and will be revealed by His wisdom. The Holy Spirit will give us divine insight into the plan of God. Remember, even if you can’t see it at the time, God is always working and the Holy Spirit is always moving. It is the wisdom of God that can give us all we could possibly need. John 5:16-20 speaks of the works of God. “So, Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” (V.19)
So, as you live your life to please Him, determine in your heart to allow God to use you. Be faithful, listen, and obey. It is staggering to think that the Father loves each one of us as much as He loves Jesus, but He does. When you were born again, God put you into position. It is then up to you to allow God to use you, but as you yield to His plan and His Spirit and His wisdom, He will use you to bring in the harvest. Your yielded life can reveal the reality that Jesus is alive!
